Dr. Daniella Baker
Educator, transgender activist and Kwan Um Zen Dharma Teacher in Training

She holds an M.A in Interdisciplinary Humanities from NYU and a Doctorate of Education from USC. She is a dharma teacher-in-training with Dharma Zen Center in Los Angeles in the Kwan Um Zen tradition. Ella is CAO of Pathways College, which seeks to provide solutions to the student debt crisis, and the founding Director of Pathways Early College Academy, a high school where students can earn an accredited college degree while completing their high school diploma. She conducts talks on faith, Zen practice, and LGBT issues with past presentations at All Saints Church in Pasadena, Kansas Zen Center, and the Sum Of Us Festival. Her writing has been featured in The Toast, Autostraddle, Lit Angels, and Stanchion. She lives and works with her wife in the Baltimore area in Maryland, U.S.
