Tenku Ruff, Osho, began her journey into Buddhism with a 5-day retreat in Japan in 1997. But took to the practice and started sitting intensively in Zen monasteries in Japan and North America under the guidance of Tessai Yamamoto Roshi. She was ordained in 2006 and received dharma transmission from Yamamoto Roshi in 2010. Tenku holds a Master of Divinity from Maitripa College, a Tibetan Buddhist graduate school in Portland, Oregon and served as President of the Soto Zen Buddhist Association for the last 3 years. She is the director of Spiritual Services at Phelps Hospital in New York and the guiding teacher of the Beacon Zen Temple in Beacon NY.
